Our 2012 trip to the Baltic with Alshira

The plan is to leave on 1 May 2012, just after Alison retires, and sail in stages up to the Kiel canal and into the Baltic. Bornholm, the Danish island off the south eastern coast of Sweden is the real target.

We are Gordon and Alison, retired academics, who now have the leisure to explore the Baltic by boat. Our boat is a Sirius 310DS, which we sailed from Germany to the East Coast last summer. We are based at Bridgemarsh, a tiny boatyard just up-stream from Burnham on Crouch. The third member of the crew is our reliable autopilot, Jakob.
